Stickers require a clean, smooth and degreased surface for permanent adhesion. Our brake cleaner is a great solution for degreasing. For larger surfaces, it is recommended to spray some water on the surface before applying the sticker. The water can be mixed with a few drops of detergent to make it more slippery. This allows for adjustments to be made during application without damaging the sticker. If the sticker is on a carrier sheet, you can use a plastic squeegee to remove any excess water by pulling the squeegee diagonally and with light pressure over the surface. This ensures that there are no water pockets under the sticker that would dry slowly and compromise adhesion. The squeegee also helps improve the connection between the sticker and the surface. Of course, those with steady hands can also position the sticker directly without using water.
